Beginner Dog Agility Class- Thursdays 6:30 to 7:30pm

Dogs who have successfully completed a Basic Dog Training Class are eligible to attend our Beginner Dog Agility Class.
This agility class has an open ended format and runs year round. New students are welcome to join the class as they become eligible to attend.

Cost is $75 for each six weeks of class.

Dog Agility Class - Sequence Training- Wednesdays 6:30pm to 8:30pm

This agility class is open to handlers whose dogs are proficient in negotiating all agility obstacles and whose dogs are reliably controllable off-lead.  The handlers must have taught their dogs a basic handling system which includes front and rear crosses, directional cues, and speed cues.
While the class does last 2 hours, dogs are not expected to work or train the entire two hours. The class format allows students to take 3 to 4 turns on the equipment or agility exercises with the instuctor's guidance, that can last 5 to 10 minutes per turn. The remaining class time, the handler will be learning through observing other dogs and handlers, practicing their obedience and attention work with their own dogs, and helping to set bars, move equipment, and build courses. Handers are encouraged to bring a crate for your dog to rest in when your dog is not working.

Agility students are encouraged to make arrangements to build or purchase practice equipment for use at home (at least 4 jumps, 1 contact obstacle, and a set of 12 weave poles) OR plan to find some place to practice agility between classes.

Keeping a journal of your agility training is also recommended so that handlers can plan homework sessions, track their progress, keep up with a list of commands they use with their dogs, and set goals for training.

Cost is $75 for each six weeks of class.

Private Dog Agility Lessons

Suitable for dogs of any level of skill. Dog Agility Private lessons consist of one half hour of instruction with the trainer and one half hour of field practice with dog agility obstacles and sequences. Lessons are paid for in advance in 4 lesson increments. Cost is $110.00.

Dog Agility Practice Field Rentals

In addition to classes and private lessons, Georgia Dog gym offers our agility field to agility competitors from other clubs and schools, and to our current agility students for rent for $10 per 1/2 hour. Please call to reserve the field in advance if you would like to come and practice with your dog.
