This course is great for any age or size dog or puppy. If you would
like to "test" your dog to see if your dog would "LIKE" dog agility, this course is for YOU!! This is
also a great course for any shy or fearful dog to aide in *building confidence".
The course will consist of
teaching dogs & puppies to negotiate numerous different agility obstacles starting with very easy challenges
and, sticking with the pace of each dog's ability, steadily guiding the dogs through more challenging obstacles.
The entire course is conducted on leash.
Basic Obedience Training is recommended before entering this class,
but it is not required.

Class Description: This 8 week course
is designed to teach you and your dog how to become a team, how to motivate your dog, and how to build a *system*
of handling your dog *off lead* so that you and your dog can move on to sucessfully learn how to run dog agility sequences
and courses.
This class is REQUIRED for moving into ANY of the dog agility classes listed below.
NO PREVIOUS TRAINING IS REQUIRED TO ENROLL IN THIS FOUNDATION COURSE.

Contacts & Weave Pole Training Class 6 weeks- 85.00 Class Size: 6 Students
This course focuses on training independent performance of the A-Frame, Pause Table,
Dog Walk, Teeter (all of the contact obstacles) as well as independent performance of 12 Weave Poles. It is recommended
that students have 12 weave poles and at least one contact obstacle at home so that daily practice can be done.
Pre-Requisite Class: Foundation and Groundwork for Dog Agility
This class will allow you to put your groundwork and
your obstacle training all together so that you can run with your dogs through agility courses. You will learn about
common patterns of obstacle sequences, while putting your handling skills to good use.
A fun class for advanced students who are already running full courses on
all obstacles with their dogs. Each week we will introduce and play a different agility game together!
ADDITIONAL DOG AGILITY ACTIVITES AT GEORGIA DOG GYM
Suitable for dogs of any level of skill. Dog Agility Private lessons are geared toward those who are serious about
competing in agility trials with their dog.
The goal of private agility instruction is to prepare teams for competition.
Students will be expected to have some of their own agility equipment at home for practice and will be expected
to practice at the Georgia Dog Gym field at least twice per week in order to continue to receive private instruction.
Lessons fees are charged by the hour ($55.00 per hour) and are scheduled according to progress and practice done independently
in between lessons.
Dog Agility Practice Field Rentals
In addition to classes and private lessons, Georgia Dog gym offers our agility field to agility competitors
from other clubs and schools, and to our current agility students for rent for $10 per 1/2 hour. Please
call to reserve the field in advance if you would like to come and practice with your dog.
